Israel Martinez, American Red Cross North Texas Region Board Member, Actively Supports Winter Storm Response and Community Preparedness Efforts

Axon Global CEO Helps Lead Red Cross Initiatives During Winter Storm Fern and Promotes the “Four Ps” of Winter Safety

Israel Martinez, CEO of Axon Global and a dedicated Board Member of the American Red Cross North Texas Region, continues to play an active leadership role as Chairman of the Mission Committee supporting the organization’s emergency response and community preparedness programs, particularly during severe winter weather events.

In January 2026, as Winter Storm Fern impacted North Texas and surrounding areas, the American Red Cross North Texas Region mobilized quickly to protect residents. The Red Cross pre-positioned critical supplies including cots, blankets, food, water, and blood products, while opening multiple shelters across the region in locations such as Alvarado, Bowie, Cooper, Fritch, and Plano. The organization coordinated closely with local emergency officials to provide sheltering, feeding, and support services to those affected by freezing temperatures, power disruptions, and hazardous conditions.

Martinez has been actively engaged in these response efforts, contributing his leadership and support to ensure the Red Cross can effectively serve communities across North Texas during this winter storm and similar emergencies.

In conjunction with ongoing seasonal preparedness campaigns, the American Red Cross North Texas Region promotes the “Four Ps” of Winter Preparation — a practical framework designed to help families and individuals stay safe during freezing temperatures, ice, sleet, and potential power outages:

  • People: Staying warm with layered clothing and blankets, limiting outdoor exposure to prevent hypothermia and frostbite, checking on vulnerable neighbors, and practicing caution during snow removal.
  • Pipes and more: Protecting home plumbing by dripping faucets, insulating pipes, maintaining safe indoor temperatures, and preparing emergency kits while avoiding dangerous heating methods.
  • Plants: Safeguarding outdoor vegetation and potted plants from freeze damage using covers or bringing them indoors.
  • Pets: Keeping animals indoors or in sheltered areas and protecting their paws from ice and road salt.

“Winter weather in North Texas can change rapidly and create serious risks for families, seniors, and our most vulnerable neighbors,” said Israel Martinez, Board Member, American Red Cross North Texas Region. “I am proud to support the Red Cross’s critical response to Winter Storm Fern and to help promote proactive preparedness through the Four Ps. Our community is stronger when we prepare together and look out for one another.”

The Red Cross continues to encourage blood donations as the national supply remains critically low and invites volunteers to join efforts at redcross.org/volunteer. Residents can locate open shelters at redcross.org/shelters or by calling 1-800-RED CROSS.

Martinez’s service on the Red Cross North Texas board reflects his longstanding commitment to community resilience, disaster response, and supporting organizations that protect lives and strengthen North Texas communities.
