Axon announces the renewal of a Research & Development contract with the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) which includes, “enhancing the protection of critical infrastructure and government systems that are vital to national security”. Israel Martinez, CEO of Axon, “believes this will markedly increase it’s value proposition in the marketplace. We believe this national security, legal-platform, is the only currently available option as a defendable position against the European Union Global Data Protection Regulation.” The Hon. René Peña, General Counsel for Axon and former 12-year prosecutor and District Attorney concurred and further stated, “Under new privacy laws, those desiring to process cyber threat information or any privacy information from the EU or China and without an approved process or legal platform, face significant financial penalties and potential criminal consequences. This applies whether the offending company does business in Europe or China, respectively, or not.”
