Axon Global is leading comprehensive after-action reports after emergency cyber responses to Hurricane Harvey in partnership wth FEMA, the Global Manufacturing Information Sharing and Analysis Organization (ISAO) and the International Association of Certified ISAOs. Israel Martinez, CEO of Axon states, “this has been an exhausting but invaluable experience for our teams – in how to interact with FEMA, state and local authorities, from a cyber-counter intelligence perspective. Even with our experienced members (e.g. from World Trade Center attacks, to Olympic Games, Hurricane Katrina, and the 2008 financial crisis) we continue to evolve and optimize integrated cyber-operations resiliency plans, as the link between cyber and the physical world evolves into hyper connectivity. This week alone our members have participated in advising and aiding; flood preparation, FEMA early detection of threat intel and resource allocation, finding shelter for families, reviewing plans for re-routing technology and telecom for emergency support services, preparing for the President’s visit, risk mitigation against North Korea cyber threats, critical infrastructure proactive defense (e.g. cyber impacts on physical plants such as chemical and gas refineries), proactive assessment of Hobby Airport (before, during and after flooding), optimizing nuclear reactor emergency response in partnership with international allies, social media search and rescue optimization, preparing for and advising recovery for any US government cyberattacks that may or may not have happened, and updated emergency preparation plans in the event Hurricane Irma heads our way.”
